Joy

I hear the church bells ringing
And the birds take flight into the cold spring skies
And of all the things that I wish to do
I want to know what it is like to soar with you
Through the mundane things of this world

Because masturbation is not love
Pornography is not love
Equality is not love

Love is free from our imagination
As free as the rain that falls from the heavens
Mountains valleys oceans alleys
She can not be rented nor invented nor paused

So forget about yesterday and tell me about now
What brings you pure joy
Love.

  1. Nomzi. Nice meeting you and your true self-expression is refreshing and beautiful. I also believe that the answers are in Nature. Love your forest pictures and can’t wait to read the rest of your work.

  4. Ok. Well romantic love is a veil, an illusion that eventually crumbles, so let me say that in an intimate relationship with another person, masterbation is not love and pornography is not love. Zero pure joy there.

And the energy focused on equality has left us all confused and exhausted. Look at the world today. That is what fighting for equality looks like. We all have different view points and this is mine today. I hope that you have a better understanding of what I mean in this poem Paula. It is always good to hear from you. I wish you a peaceful afternoon. 🙂

  5. Me too Khaya, me too and it brings me joy to hear from you 😀 Joy is a gift from the heavens indeed. I love when I let a new poem pass through me. That brings me pure joy. Especially when I share it. Laughing at myself also brings me pure joy. Sunlight oh heavenly sunlight brings me joy.

I reflect on Easter’s messages and lessons. I reflect on many things. Mostly I embrace my inner nerd and let life unfold. I wish you a moving and peaceful Easter weekend Khaya. Love is patient. ❤

  6. Love this! When I think of the things that bring me joy, I’m dazed and sober in the ecstasy. A yearning to hold on to the feeling of joy. Beautiful and deep poem Nomzi.
Wishing you a joyous Easter weekend:)
