I can write, sing, paint etc. I am one of those people who love so may different subjects. But something changed, drastically. It began the day that I stopped pretending; when one by one I removed the toxins, the excuses and the lies that I told myself. All the noise.

I had buried my dreams so deep inside of me that life eventually shook me so hard, to such an extent that I ended up in rehab. Part of my journey of healing required that I share my inner world with you. I committed to writing a poem each Monday and sharing it with you. This practice became my way of opening my heart and remembering the way to my dreams. And that is where my musical journey began.

Anyhow, you will find selected poems that I have written between 2014 – 2017, a lot of which are a work in progress towards my poetry book. Currently, my focus is on my music and I am trusting that process. When it comes to my poems, I will let you know as soon as my book is out one day because this is how the magic began. In the meantime, please feel free to read my poems, listen to my music or come to my concerts. Discover what poetry is for you. For me, each poem and song that I write is a plea for love in this world.

I believe that silence is golden. I believe that most answers lie in nature, slowing down. I believe in love. And deep down inside, we know who we are.

    What a delightful introduction you have written. Like yourself I do love poetry albeit my preference is always for the rhyming verse, I can and do recognise the talent and beauty in most free form poetry. I am not on line very much at the moment as this is a very busy time for me outdoors, but thank you for your visit and follow, it’s very much appreciated

      1. Thank you so much. I feel I am neglecting my blogs a little at the moment because of a sculpture exhibition I’m working on that raises funds for Women’s Refuge. It only runs for two weeks from tomorrow, so I will be back soon and will spend more time engaging with my wonderful blogging whanau. So glad you have become a part of this. Cheers, Su.

  5. I love your intention to simply create without expecting anything in return. That reminds me of a passage from The Prophet (by Kahlil Gibran); a very similar idea about Giving and Receiving. If you are not familiar with this book, you will appreciate it very much. I just picked it up again after many years to read a passage at my daughter’s wedding. It holds ancient truth that does not change. In a similar vein, I believe our poetry can dip into that ancient well also. And when it does, we know it with every fiber of our being…

      Yes, a manifesto indeed. My paintings and drawings are not visible online but I certainly have not ruled that idea out. Time will tell. But in the meantime… 🙂
