Abruptly he turned away in panic
As though she had come to dethrone him
Swore never to look into her eyes again
He could not bear losing her love
But it was already too late
Love had begun.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR
Abruptly he turned away in panic
As though she had come to dethrone him
Swore never to look into her eyes again
He could not bear losing her love
But it was already too late
Love had begun.

You catched a so pure and primordial feeling… I felt quite the same when I first looked at my just born niece.

Wonderful poem Nomzi, with a surprise ending. I saw your concert on the Youtube link and shared it with my sister in Holland who is a pro musician with son who plays guitar in bands and she was full of praise about you. xx

I am enthusiastically and obsessionally learning to play the Native American Flute…Love the way it ‘trembles’ and sounds, and understand why it is called a ‘spirit’ flute.
My sister is now retired , son is secretive about his music..there is some youtube stuff but he is not willing to share yet!! Perfectionistic tendencies I think.

You know I just love your poems: “too late, love has begun.” This particular one is very strong, I can imagine the story and feel the characters rather strongly, it is those little things that are never said but feared in love, it has a way of doing that “dethroning” one and even if you are aware you willingly go in dethroned and conquered.

Thank you for letting me know that Afrika Bohemian. We forgot what it is to serve another. We tend to associate that with weakness and poverty. I see “those little things” unsaid that you mention as windows.

Dear Nomzi, your poems are so lovely, so strong – this one in particular.
Sorry I missed your concert – but Patrik ensured me it was a success, congratulations!
