People go on “dates”? I thought that sort of ritual stopped about 1960 😀

Apparently. I don’t quite get it. They say that on these dates one has to listen even more than usual. 😀

Another name for that is “ego stroking”. You are also supposed to flutter your eye lashes and sigh in admiration. Then, if you are touched, the correct ritual, is to swoon with pretend desire, but not give in, due to moral proclivities.
If this sort of nonsense is expected or required, it tells you something about your “date”.
