Life can get challenging sometimes, so when it does, find the light; in a poem, a song, a good conversation, a shared meal, rest, under a tree or by the sea.
I remember going through a painful period in my life that pushed me to write my first WordPress post about returning home to South Africa, essentially to myself. Some day I will tell you about how poetry chose me back then. For now I keep writing and editing my poetry book.
Over 1000 followers later, I am truly grateful for your support, guidance and inspiration 🌸

I would love to hear your story, Nomzi – your cross-cultural journey from South Africa to Scandinavia, your struggles and insights. BTW, I am currently a consultant to one of SA’s NGOs supporting them in becoming a more trauma-sensitive organization as they are attempting to empower underprivileged children. So I am learning a lot about that culture while also sharing my professional expertise.

I have landed on a great theme for my book so I am very excited for you to read it, Annette. Your work is relevant and much needed now more than ever. I would love to hear more about what your consulting entails. What kind of educational background one needs…Find me on Facebook?

So happy to hear that you are writing a book. Yes, I’ll find you on FB. In terms of consulting – you can consult in any area of expertise. I happen to be trained as a clinical psychologist with a specialty in trauma, so I use that knowledge for my consulting.

Hi Nomzi! Thanks for asking. It’s taking longer than I originally imagined but I’m working on it. Balancing a fulltime job, family life and everything else with writing is a bit of a challenge. I had to learn that writing is rather a marathon than a sprint. 🙂 All the best with yours. 🙂
