Dreadlocking

Forests of dark coily hair jerseyed
Into the fabric of my immigrant life
Understanding what is my ground
Something that’s not yours to name.

    1. Primal, what a generous adjective. I am humbled.
On the surface, I will no longer change the texture of my hair, straightening it and all sorts to make other people relax. So should my hair look rich, wild, dirty, magical or remind one of poverty, that is no longer my burden. Thank you for the support Celestine. 🙂
